Sweaty and Sexy: Check Out Dirty Work, An Anthology by Amanda Heger, Harper St. George, and Tara Wyatt

4 Stars

I’m not a big anthology reader, but this one from Amanda Heger, Tara Wyatt, and Harper St George really delivered! All three stories focus on second chance romances. More so, the heroes are connected-they’re cousins-so there’s a very nice flow between stories which I really appreciated.

Each couple had great chemistry. Heger’s couple, Natalie and Chris, were high school sweethearts. She gives them such a well-fleshed out story as they each deal with personal issues while on their road back to each other. It felt like a complete novel to me and I was fully invested in the outcome.

St. George is new to me and I was impressed! Rachel and Sage left my Kindle smoking from their on fire romance. I love a “rich girl/poor boy” story and this one hits all the right marks including hot garage sex! Not gonna lie, Sage was my favorite hero of the anthology as he rocked the bad boy vibe right off the page.

Finally, Wyatt’s second chance romance had a slightly different feel with Charlie and Adam giving a second chance to a fairly new romance. They had struck up an online romance months earlier after each found themselves in a failed relationship. When Adam lets his fear of relationships keep him from his and Charlie’s first meeting, she is hurt and then angry when Adam shows up on her doorstep. Adam’s wooing of Charlie is fun and sexy. And Charlie was such a great heroine, a Boston sports journalist, who can really keep up with the boys.

4 stars for this fun anthology! Heat level: 3.5

I received a copy of Dirty Work from the authors in exchange for honest feedback.

Dirty Work: An Anthology was published in August 2016

Amanda Heger

Amanda Heger is a writer, attorney, and bookworm. She lives in the Midwest with her unruly rescue dogs and a husband who encourages her delusions of grandeur. She strongly believes Amy Poehler is her soul mate, and one of her life goals is to adopt a pig and name it Ron Swineson.

Harper St. George

Harper St. George was raised in the rural backwoods of Alabama and along the tranquil coast of northwest Florida. It was a setting filled with stories of the old days that instilled in her a love of history, romance, and adventure. By high school, she had discovered the historical romance novel which combined all of those elements into one perfect package. She has been hooked ever since.

She lives on Florida’s emerald coast with her family. She would love to hear from you. Please visit her website at www.harperstgeorge.com and connect with her on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/harperstgeorge.

Tara Wyatt

Tara Wyatt is a romance author who’s been making up love stories ever since she fell head over heels for the Backstreet Boys and Hanson almost twenty years ago. Not content with merely daydreaming about Nick Carter and Taylor Hanson, she grabbed a notebook and wrote countless fan fiction stories.

After outgrowing her boy band obsession and obtaining an Honours B.A. in English Literature and Philosophy from McMaster University, her love of books and reading led her to pursue a Masters’ degree in Library and Information Science at the University of Western Ontario. Currently, she works for a large public library system, where she has the arduous task of selecting books for children and young adults for the library’s collection.

Before it was published, Tara’s manuscript, Necessary Risk, won the 2014 Unpublished Winter Rose contest, and the 2014 Linda Howard Award of Excellence. Her second manuscript, Primal Instinct, won the Utah RWA’s Heart of the West contest, also before it was published.

Tara is a member of the Toronto RWA chapter. She lives in Hamilton, Ontario, with the cutest dog in the world and a husband who makes all of her heroes look like chumps.
