About Sir: The Awakening:

Nate Stone is the kind of man that makes a girl fall–fast and hard. I can’t let that happen if I want to protect my heart. But if I take what he’s offering, will it be enough?

Hollywood heartthrob Nate Stone returns to his south Louisiana hometown to direct a movie, but once he gets there all he can think about is the pretty waitress at the local diner. Tori Wilson knows that the smoking hot actor-turned-director will stop at nothing to get her into his bed, but he can only offer her a short affair–and he’s asking for a lot more than simple sex. Tori has never wanted anyone as bad she wants Nate, but is she willing to let him take control when she’s already been burned before? And if she submits to his commands, will he dominate her heart?

Sir – Book 1

And with a ring of the bell, that moment is here, as Nate enters the diner.

It feels like suddenly the air is charged as I watch him take off his sunglasses and hook them onto the collar of his grey t-shirt as he scans the room. His gaze lands on me and a warm smile grows on his face. I realize I’m grinning like a fool right back at him and, embarrassed by how happy I am to see him, I tuck my hair behind my ear and turn back to the fascinating task of pouring salt.

I get goosebumps and nearly gasp aloud when he comes up behind me. I feel the heat of his body against my back and the mouthwatering salty sandalwood musky scent that’s part cologne and part him wafts towards me. I take a deep breath and there’s a clench deep inside that makes my knees weaken and my eyes nearly roll up in my head.

I think I actually moan aloud.

God, I hope I didn’t. Color flushes my cheeks and I pray he suddenly became deaf and blind because my behavior is mortifying.

“Hi, Tori. Did you have a nice day today?” he murmurs in my ear, voice low and full of gravel and sex.

God, if my mouth didn’t go dry with just those few words.

I swallow and lick my lips, trying to get my voice to work. “It was slow, thanks. And you?”

Suddenly he’s in my periphery, leaning back against the counter I’m working on. I can tell he’s looking at me, maybe even trying to get me to look back at him. I resist.

“I missed you.”

That gets my attention. I search his face, trying to figure out if he’s pulling my leg because WHAT?? He actually missed me? For real?

But the man is bashfully rubbing his neck and looking away and color’s rising to his cheeks… Is that a blush?

My jaw drops, but thankfully, I’m able to get a hold of myself before he glances back, a rueful grin on his face as he shrugs, “Silly, right? But I spent the whole day in meetings and the only thing I could think about was you. Are you getting off soon? Can I take you out to dinner?”

I am sure I’m looking at him funny because my mind is blank and I don’t know what to do with everything that just came out of his mouth.

He starts looking a little embarrassed, and that’s what manages to break me out of my stupor. “Yes.” He looks relieved. “Wait, no.” Then confused. “I mean, I want to.” Then amused. “But I’m closing tonight.” Then a little bummed. Aw.

“That’s OK,” he starts, “When’s your next night off—”

“GO!” Elizabeth orders, bursting through the kitchen doors. Was she eavesdropping? “Go! It’s a slow night. I’m letting you off early.”

“Nope. Go. You’re off. Have fun. I’ll cover for you. Just go. Now, or you’re fired,” she orders, pointing to the door.
